When the leaves start to fall and the days turn cooler, yummy autumn snacks are a must. But keeping treats fun, seasonal and not packed with sugar can feel like a challenge. Luckily, there are plenty of easy, wholesome options that little ones will love – and you’ll feel good about serving.

1. Apple “Donuts”
Slice apples into rings, remove the core, and let the kids decorate them with toppings like peanut butter, cream cheese, raisins, or a sprinkle of cinnamon. They look just like donuts but are far healthier.
2. Pumpkin Hummus & Dippers
Blend chickpeas with a little pumpkin purée, olive oil, and mild spices for a creamy dip. Serve with veggie sticks, wholegrain crackers or pita bread for a filling after-school snack.
3. Cinnamon Roasted Chickpeas
A crunchy alternative to crisps! Roast chickpeas in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil, cinnamon and a touch of honey or maple (optional). They’re sweet, spiced, and perfect for autumn.
4. Mini Veggie Faces
Turn rice cakes into autumn characters by topping them with cream cheese or hummus and letting the kids decorate with sliced peppers, cucumber, and sweetcorn. Think scarecrows or pumpkins!
5. Warm Spiced Popcorn
Air-popped popcorn tossed with a little melted butter (or coconut oil) and a dusting of cinnamon makes a cosy treat for movie nights without the sugar overload.
These snacks are quick to put together, fun to eat, and packed with flavour. Best of all, they bring the tastes of autumn to your kitchen without relying on heaps of sugar. 🍎🎃🌽
